Asset count is not the same as workload
Area, machine count and file count describe scope but do not determine effort alone. Repeated objects with complete drawings are different from unique, occluded equipment that requires component separation.
Source quality changes the review effort
Scaled CAD, BIM, scans, dimensions and multi-angle photos reduce inference. Incomplete references require an issue list and a clear distinction between confirmed and approximate geometry.
Accuracy and visual detail are separate
Dimensional accuracy, structural coverage and surface detail should be specified independently. Critical equipment can receive measurable tolerances while distant objects use simplified geometry.
Delivery structure changes production
A presentation model and a model with object queries, live status or disassembly need different names, hierarchy and QA. Editable sources, PBR textures, LOD and property mapping also add work.
The runtime platform sets optimization effort
Browser, mobile, desktop and offline rendering have different budgets. GLB packaging, 3D Tiles, partitions, compression and LOD should be included when they are required.
Comparable quotations need one scope
Give each supplier the same manifest, representative files, use case, formats, accuracy, timing and acceptance method, then confirm whether pilots, revisions, sources and optimization are included.
